Business attire, with a twist

Black suit and white blouse… BORING! I like to experiment with color and fabric when it comes to business attire. Here are some options that you can try on when going for your next customer visit or business meeting:

I live in the Netherlands now, so I though a bit of orange would do well in my wardrobe. I combined it here with a jumpsuit that I just bought from Mango. Really cool piece, which you can wear in a classic combination like here, or for a summer shopping spree in the city. I like multi-functional…

To continue with the color theme: purple jacket with shorter sleeves. The length of the sleeves already makes it more dynamic. I combined it here with 7/8 trousers so I could put on little booties to make the look more young. By the way, I bought these booties this winter, they are from Hogan and pretty high, but oh so comfortable! So I had to have them in grey as well.

Do you dare to bring some sparkle into a business meeting? Smart grey suit combined with a nude top with silver sequined. And the cherry on the cake: patent leather Miu Miu pumps. In the summer, you can pair up the top with some cool chinos and give it all a more casual look, or pimp it up with a sexy white bootcut jeans for a party.

The classic Boss suit also still does the trick. Combine it with a casual t-shirt and colored belt, and that makes the look more approachable. The trousers of the suit are very long and wide, so I combined it here with very high Prada shoes. (Very suitable for seated meetings!)

I love dresses, so I will dedicate a next blog post only to dresses, but I could not leave them out here. Red… People have lots of different opinions regarding red for business attire. Someone told me that you should wear red when you go into a tough meeting and you want to make clear you do not agree with something. I just like the color… I have combined the red Mango dress with a cute smoking blazer from H&M. That doesn’t look to hostile if you ask me…

Last but not least: purple with grey. The dress is a silk purple dress from Essentiel Antwerp, combined with a woolen blazer from Banana Republic. The combination of light  and thick fabric makes this combination interesting. I am waering grey suede boots from Essentiel with it. The red patent belt gives a nice finishing touch to it all.
