SENCE Copenhagen Jewelry

Scandinavia is really a melting pot of young designers and new labels are popping up constantly. I already covered Pilgrim in my previous jewelry post and now I want to highlight a new label I discovered: SENCE Copenhagen.

The jewelry from SENCE Copenhagen is designed by young and upcoming Scandinavian designers who have a passion to combine fashion and  jewelry. Their collection is very much influenced by the trends, moods and colours of the fashion season. But don’t be mistaken, these are not “cheap” pieces because it is fashion jewelry. SCENCE Copenhagen looks for the best quality materials for each of their pieces and use natural materials and semi-precious stones where possible. They take much pride in their Scandinavian roots and dedication to quality.

Here is my selection of the best pieces out of the new collection:

Hm, total price tag: 1500 Euros.  Well, if you can let yourself go and price is not an issue…

Honest by – new online platform

I’ve already been talking in some of my previous blog posts about designers and labels with serious social (green) responsibility. There is another exciting project in the making, by Bruno Pieters called Honest by.

Bruno is a Belgian fashion designer who recently left his job as creative director at Hugo Boss to go on a sabbatical, during which he spent most of his time in Southern India. It is there where he found the inspiration for this new exciting project.

Honest by will be a new way of online shopping. The garments that will be sold on this platform, are all made with respect for people and animals, ensuring every component in every product has the smallest impact on our health and the environment. They will also offer an alternative to the traditional two-season fashion model. Summer and winter garments are offered all year around to recognize the increased frequency of international travel and the need to adapt to different climates and temperatures. Honest by continuously offers new collections from established and upcoming designers .

The collection of Bruno Pieters himself is already available online. A new designer with new collections will be launched on April 5th.

Stars in Dior

After Chanel, we can now add another book on our coffee table. The house of Dior is releasing a book with art publisher Rizzoli featuring stars – past and present – in iconic looks by Christian Dior and his successors. Charlize Theron, current abassador of the brand, will be on the cover. The book will contain 250 photos of film stills, location shots, photographs, and of course, portraits of actresses wearing Dior. From old Holywood divas Marilyn Monroe and Marlene Dietrich to more modern stars like Natalie Portman. The book will be released in May in Europe and available in the US in September.

Rumor has it…

...H&M is considering a higher-priced clothing line!

The Swedisch-based retail giant made a red-carpet splash in 2012 by dressing A-list stars as Viola Davis and Michelle Williams. Did working with guest designers like Versace and Marni, give H&M the idea to tackle a new market? They are very good marketeers, we have to admit that, and they have a very good sense of how to grow their brand. The new luxury collection would be in a higher price range as COS, the more expensive sister of H&M. According to the Swedish newspaper Dagens Industri, designer Behnaz Aram would be closely involved in this new project. Of course H&M is not confirming this rumor, but also not denying it… “We are constantly looking at new ideas; it’s a natural part of our work,” spokesperson Charlotta Nemlin teased. “However, there is nothing new that we can talk about for the moment.” We will be keeping our eyes and ears open!

Embracing my pastels

Pastels are starting to conquer my spring wardrobe. And I clearly have a favorite: peach. It is such a positive color. It makes me feel soooo peachy! But there are more colors to be added. I’ll be looking out for some yellow and mint to add to my wardrobe. I already have a lot of soft pink, so that is not a “new” pastel for me. But pink pants were missing in that collection, so  I did recently buy a pink skinny jeans.

Leather for Spring

Leather is perfect for spring, and then I am not just talking about jackets. There are so many cute dresses, skirts and tops available in leather this season. And in all the current trends: vivid colors, pastels, patterns etc. You can make your look bold and tough, or combine your leather item with some soft colors or lace to make it more romantic. Here are some inspirations:
