Some models have no problem with nudity, like Heidi in Allure, but the current cover of Elle Brazil was not what Coco wanted and the whole world can know it. The creative department at Elle was a bit too eager to make their cover sexy and happily turned to Photoshop to do so. I just finished a basic photoshop training and it is unbelievable what you can do with this program. But as long as magazines use top models, they should also respect their wishes. Otherwise they could better turn to computer-animated models and go crazy on them.
Coco’s response on her blog: ‘As a high fashion model I have long had a policy of no nudity or partial nudity in my photo shoots. For my recent Elle Brazil cover shoot I wore a body suit under a sheer dress which I now find was photoshopped out to give the impression of me showing much more skin than I was, or am comfortable with. This was specifically against my expressed verbal and written direction to the entire team that they not do so. I’m extremely disappointed that my wishes and contract was ignored. I strongly believe every model has a right to set rules for how she is portrayed and for me these rules were clearly circumvented.’
We are from the same construction year, but oh my god, can she still pull it off! Her most recent photo shoot for Allure (May UK edition) its just stunning. She strips down in front of the camera as well as during the interview. She speaks openly about beauty, love and much more.
Is it just me, but is she getting more gorgeous over the years? Her (secret) weapon for still looking so fresh and young is that unbelievable SMILE!

In the 80’s and 90’s, Benetton was trendy, cool and controversial. As a marketing student, I really admired their edgy & provocative advertising campaigns. All of a sudden, the whole world knew who Oliviero Toscani was – top photographer and creative director at Benetton from 1982 till 2000. They used topics like politics, aids and racism to evoke attention and it had an enormous impact on sales. Their success story was studied in every business school. But what has happened to this brand, that nowadays it has disappeared completely from our radar? How fashion forward they were then, so out of trend they are now. For a brief moment, they were in the spotlight again with their “unhate” campaign. But they quickly disappeared from the stage again.

Sales have stagnated since 2000 (that was also the year Toscani left the company). In comparison, H&M quadrupled their sales in the past decade and Inditex increased sales about sixfold. And as we know, in business, standing still means going backwards.
I am not really sure if they will manage to put themselves back on the map. It will take some drastic changes when it comes to business model, market positioning and collection design. They will have to reinvent themselves completely. I would love to put my teeth into this rebranding :-)
Loafers have made a big comeback last Fall and they are still around this season. I believe there a 3 looks that work well with loafers: chic, preppy and hip. One look I definitely would stay away from, is the asian schoolgirl look with white socks! If loafers are not your”thing”, you can also experiment with Oxfords. Although, a classic loafer from Prada or Gucci will always be in style.

I’m 37 years old and tried many different eye creams over the years. But I finally found one that really seems to work!
Until recently I was still using Chanel and experimenting with Dr Hauschka. At the beauty salon, they have the product range from Valomont. I already had several facials with the products and they are really good. Unfortunately, they are also pretty expensive. So for now, I’ll stick with my Dr Hauschka of which I am very satisfied (see previous post).
Several weeks ago, the beautician persuaded me in buying the Cyto Complex eye cream from Valmont. The parts under my eyes were really dry and needed extra hydration. So, I’ve been using it now for several weeks, twice a day, and for the first time in my live…I really see the difference a good eye cream can make. I am using the Cyto Complex Factor II. It is not cheap, but compared to all the other products I have used before: it’s worth while the extra money.
The festival season was kicked off with Coachella Festival in California. The trends for the upcoming festival season are set! No big surprises if you ask me… Although I did spot some Chanel 5.1 bags on the festival grounds?!

It’s been 18 months in the making, but in Beijing Victoria Beckham revealed her design debut for Range Rover. “When I first started working with the team I did a lot of research, and created mood boards to show the team my love of timeless and classic design. I looked at yachts, luxury jets and classic cars.” Virctoria was appointed creative design executive at Range Rover in 2010. “I have an enormous amount of respect for the brand. I’ve always driven a Range Rover, for me they are the epitome of quality and luxury.” There will only be 200 cars produced of this special edition, price tag 80K pounds.
