The Super Adventures of Sophie and the City is a series of children’s books written by Kelly Florio Kasouf and illustrated by Judit García-Talavera. Kelly Florio Kasouf is the daughter of late Condé Nast chief executive officer Steve Florio. She released the first adventure of Sophie last year – “All in a Day’s Work” – for which she harnessed her own childhood experiences with the fashion world. In the second book “Grand Central Escapades” released earlier this month, Sophie is on a time-traveling voyage to the Twenties, with appearances from Christian Dior, Paul Poiret and Marguerite Lanvin.
Both books are a great Xmas gifts for fashionable little (or not so little) girls!
Oscar de la Renta for Sophie
In early 2013, Oscar de la Renta will retail a special dress in his new children’s collection that was created for Sophie, to mirror both her sophistication and sense of whimsy and wonder. The cotton voile fabric mimics a watercolor iris, which complements the illustrations of the Sophie series.
“We were very excited to be able to make a special dress for Sophie, knowing that in a little Oscar de la Renta dress, she would shine the world over on her adventures through the greatest of all cities,” says Catherine Monteiro de Barros, VP of Design, Childrenswear.
It’s always been Grace. Only, we didn’t know it… until “The September Issue” showed that the real star at Vogue US is not Anna Wintour.
Grace Coddington offered a glimpse into her past during the documentary, but not enough, which is why “Grace: A Memoir” is such a welcome arrival. The book is a fascinating tale of a girl from Wales who grows from Vogue cover girl to the highly respected Vogue editor. Grace is fashion royalty, who’s been influencing the fashion world for many years silently behind the scenes. Now it’s time for Grace to tell her story!
Grace: A Memoir is available at Amazon.

Carrie Bradshaw: It’s a BAGUETTE.
The bag in question is the famous Fendi baguette, which started the whole IT-bag frenzy in the nineties. The bag was created in 1997, when Karl Lagerfeld was Creative Director at Fendi.
15 years later, the bag is making a comeback.
Silvia Venturini Fendi made a beautiful 300 pages coffee-table book honoring the bag. Sarah Jessica Parker is one of the co-authors of the book.
And the label decided to put six of its most popular versions back in store!
If you want a real classic, this could be it…
After Chanel, we can now add another book on our coffee table. The house of Dior is releasing a book with art publisher Rizzoli featuring stars – past and present – in iconic looks by Christian Dior and his successors. Charlize Theron, current abassador of the brand, will be on the cover. The book will contain 250 photos of film stills, location shots, photographs, and of course, portraits of actresses wearing Dior. From old Holywood divas Marilyn Monroe and Marlene Dietrich to more modern stars like Natalie Portman. The book will be released in May in Europe and available in the US in September.
