While France is in strong debate around legalising same-sex marriage, Karl Lagerfeld decided to send 2 brides to the catwalk as the finale of the Chanel Couture show earlier this week in Paris. That was his way of endorsing the marriage equality law in France. Lagerfeld said afterwards that he doesn’t understand the debate. And I honestly don’t either. But then again, the catholics also describe marriage as an “institution”…
“It’s not a journey. Every journey ends. We go on. The world turns and we turn with it. Plans disappear. Dreams take over. But wherever I go, there you are: My luck. My Fate. My Fortune. Chanel No5, Inevitable.”
The mood of the video is really beautiful, simple and graceful. The words are very inspiring. But somehow, I can’t put it all together. Who is this companion always with Brad Pitt wearing Chanel No5? I didn’t think Chanel No5 was the favourite perfume of Angelina Jolie. The mystery is not fully resolved if you ask me, or maybe I am analysing it too much.
That was the question last week during Paris Fashion Week when Karl Lagerfeld sent a model on the runway carrying this huge bag in some kind of hula hoop construction.
“It’s for the beach, ” Lagerfeld explained. “You need space for the beach towel. And then you can put it into the sand and hang things on it.”
I am curious to see which fashion victim will be taking this to the beach…
I would recommend to leave it on the runway. Even if it is for practicality reasons. Seriously, how do you want to put this into your suitcase when you leave on holidays??
This winter it is all about black, baroque and drama. The perfect time for Chanel to launch their new scent: Coco Noir.
It’s the first Chanel scent that I love and wear.
I have been very loyal to my Chloe (and my boyfriend’s Hermes Terre), but this black bottle will be my companion this winter!
Magnetic and uncompromising, COCO NOIR embodies a black mystery that is intimate, seductive and intensely brilliant. Striking top notes of grapefruit and bergamot accentuate the rose and jasmine infused floral accord, while notes of Indonesian patchouli and sandalwood add warmth.
The question now is, who will be the face of this amazing new perfume?
Gwyneth Paltrow New Face of Boss Scent
The actress will appear in the TV, print, and online campaigns for Boss Nuit Pour Femme. “To me, the Boss woman is driven, ambitious and goes after what she wants, but she balances being strong and very feminine at the same time – characteristics that I strive toward in my own life”
Christian Louboutin Entering Beauty
Embarking on his first major brand extension, the designer of shoes and handbags has established a joint venture with New York-based Batallure Beauty. The shoe designer will launch his cosmetic range in 2013.
Vidal Sassoon Dies at 84
The legendary hairdresser revolutionized hairstyling by creating the geometric bob. Mark Hayes, International Creative Director Sassoon: “Everyone in the industry is indebted to Vidal’s courage and single-minded vision, the effects of which will be felt for many generations to come.”
Chanel Signs Brad Pitt as Face of No.5
The signing marks the first time a man has been tapped to represent the fragrance. Something doesn’t seem to fit into this list, if you ask me: Marilyn Monroe – Catherine Deneuve – Nicole Kidman – Audrey Tautou – Brad Pitt
Jimmy Choo Hits the Streets
