Everybody wants a piece of Kling

Elin Kling is a great example of how a blogger can take over the world. This 20-something girl from Sweden made it from local blogging hero to international fashion icon in 5 years!

She started her blog Style by Kling in 2007 and after 2 months it was already the most popular fashion blog in Sweden. This success kicked-off her career as fashion editor of SOLO (Swedish lifestyle magazine) and Expressen (Swedish daily), to eventually starting up her own magazine Styleby (available in Swedish).

In 2010 she made her introduction into television as head stylist of IDOL and she competed on “Dancing with the Stars”. She was the first fashion-blogger in the world to have her own collection for H&M, which was unfortunately only available in Sweden. NET-A-PORTER signed her up for their Spring 2012 campaign, shot by the great Patrick Demarchelier.

This month, she is launching her capsule collection for Guess by Marciano, the brand’s first ever design collaboration.

And the collaborations just go on and on and on.. Everybody wants to have a piece of Kling! It’s clear that a successful blogger needs to be a multi-talent. I wonder how long it will be till a blogger makes the TIME Most Influential People-list.

Fashion + Music = match made in heaven

Who showed first interest in who? I guess it’s a chicken and egg story, but one things is for sure: it works. The 2 most recent collaborations are with Kate Moss + George Michael and Guess + Tiesto.

Guess is teaming up with DJ and producer Tiesto for a limited-edition capsule collection and branded performances. The first result of that partnership will be in store next month: a Tiesto by Guess watch. An apparel collection will follow in October. Tiesto’s performances (supported by Guess) begin July 23 in Ibiza and continue through 2013. All the details about the partnership will be posted on tiesto.guess.com, but for now you can register on the Guess website for updates.

George Michael and Kate Moss got together for the videoclip of George’s new single White Light. George Michael already used the fashion world as an inspiration in 1990 for his videoclip Freedom, featuring the super models from that time. That clip was a huge hit and has become a real classic. I don’t think the White Light clip will have the same success though. But at least Kate Moss looks amazing in it…

Claudia Schiffer – as sexy as ever

Twenty-three years after starring in her first Guess ad campaign, Claudia Schiffer is back and starring in ads for the brand’s 30th anniversary collection. Needless to say, that Claudia still looks amazing. The 2012 campaign pays homage to the iconic black-and-white photographs snapped by Ellen von Unwerth in 1989. Claudia Schiffer was featured in six Guess ad campaigns from 1989 to 1991, but it was the 1989 image of Claudia with tousled blonde locks wearing nothing but a black bustier and gold hoop earrings that put the brand on the map. The famous picture was also her ticket to model stardom.

That was then:                    This is now:
