Jason Wu at Hugo Boss

GREAT news for all the business women out there. Jason Wu is the new artistic director for Hugo Boss Womenswear. He will definitely bring the necessary focus and edge to the female side of the brand.
“With the state-of-the-art facilities that are unique to the Hugo Boss design labs, I plan to develop a strong, feminine womenswear collection that reciprocates the brand’s authority in menswear.”

The German brand, mainly known for its business attire, has been struggling lately and that has shown also in declining sales. With Jason Wu, they hope to give the brand a new fashion injection. The 30-year-old Taiwan-born, New York-based designer is a real fashion wiz kid, loved by a lot of fashion editors & journalists and… the first lady Michelle Obama. His most recent collection (fall 2013) got again a lot of good reviews for of the strong female looks he sent down the runway.

I am very excited to see the spin he will be giving to the Hugo Boss woman! His first collection for the brand will be shown at February 2014’s New York Fashion Week.

The new faces

A new year, a new season, a new collection calls for some new campaign faces.
NewFaces2013 Vanessa Paradis for H&M – Stephanie Seymour for Jason Wu
Katie Holmes for Bobbi Brown – Lenny Kravitz for Eleven Paris
Miranda Kerr for Mango – Penelope Cruz for Loewe

Some of these “endorsements” make more sense than others. My personal favourite would be Vanessa Paradis supporting the Conscious Collection for H&M. Check out this teaser.

And luckily some things don’t need to change: David Beckham for H&M Bodywear.
